The Cottage is adjacent to Monkland House and the whole property was built in 1896 by the Whitelaw family whose famous son William Whitelaw was the UK’s deputy Prime Minister from 1975 to 1991.
Originally built for the coachman for Monkland House, the Cottage now incorporates the original hayloft to provide spacious holiday accommodation. The Cottage offers the best in luxury self-catering accommodation, sleeping up to 6 people in 3 sumptuous bedrooms, large open plan kitchen, lounge with log burning stove and dining area. It is also attached to the original stables creating a private, sheltered courtyard ideal for outdoor dining.
